DK Theo Raynor, PhD, FRPharmS is inaugural Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Leeds. His research focuses on the effective delivery of medicines information for patients. A pharmacist by training, Theo worked in hospital practice for 20 years when he completed his PhD on medicines information for patients. Theo’s research assumes a partnership approach to medicine taking and papers have appeared in the BMJ and Lancet, and presentations in continental Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. He has advised the UK Department of Health, the European Medicines Agency and the European Parliament on consumer medicines information. He is also Director of Luto Research Ltd (www.luto.co.uk), a University spin-out, which provides consumer information development, refining and testing services for pharma companies across Europe. Theo was elected a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2011. Theo supports Leeds United soccer team and holds a season ticket with his daughter. He is also a member of the Rodillian Runners.
